About
In 2017, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago celebrates fifty years as a hub of creativity and community in Chicago. To honor our anniversary, we have created MCA Stories, a website that gathers the stories of our community. Staff, artists, scholars, visitors, and patrons share memories of their favorite exhibitions and events, of encounters with artists and artworks, and of helping to build a new kind of museum from scratch.
A picture emerges of the MCA as a place of excellence and experimentation, inspired by a committed group of founders with a goal to build an institution unlike any other in Chicago and visitors with an appetite for the new.
The MCA Stories website has been built to grow, and visitors are invited to share their own images, memories, and stories. You may also send comments, suggestions, or corrections to us at stories@mcachicago.org.
Hundreds of people, across departments, roles, and decades have contributed to MCA Stories. Production credits can be found here.
