Wrapping the MCA Sign

How fabric was stitched together to cover the MCA sign.

The fabric was unrolled from the roof of the building down and stitched together. There was a big tarpaulin section and stitched together. The wrap was, of course, going all around. And it went up also. It was like a cone of steel, the sign of the museum. We wrapped that in plastic, transparent plastic, so you can see a little bit of the sign of Museum of Contemporary Art. And this is how we really also became—because we stay quite a time to do that work, we became friends with many of the founding trustees of the museum and all that was in January, I remember, 1969.
