Membership to the MCA is more than just a card. It's more than just being able to come into the museum for free. It's an affiliation and an affinity to what the MCA stands for. So for 50 years, there have been people who have said, "I like you. I like you enough to not only buy an admission ticket, but to give you more so that I can keep coming back."

So the MCA is a place where if I become a member, then I know I will find other likeminded people. We talk a lot—we report in board meetings, or we report to various publications, the size of our membership, which is relatively small. I mean, it's like 8,000 people at this moment in time. But if you think about, over the last 50 years, there have been 8,000 people, some of them for 50 years, very few, but a few for 50 years. Many for 40. Many for 30.
